    Download Pre-Defined Areas

    ​For users who require the point cloud data, we offer this data for download as pre-defined areas in the form of compressed LAS files, known as LAZ. These prepared, downloadable LAZ files cover large areas. If smaller, specific area downloads are required, we recommend user explore the Download Focused Areas page to access the Maryland Statewide LiDAR Download Tool.

    A list of available LAS files is shown below. Click on the Block number below to download the file. Each collection has been broken into blocks, with each block no more than 10 GB in size, to facilitate downloading of the point cloud data.

    Please reference the document pdf icon How to Use LAZ Download Tool for instructions on decompressing the LAZ files to LAS. Go to the Maryland Topography Viewer​, turn on the Bulk Downloads under Base Maps and Overlays, to view the index grid.
